Honoring Our Warriors

Sometimes war is something that can and should not be avoided. God has told us to stand for what we believe and in order to do that sometimes it is necessary to fight. To the men and women who are willing to lay down their lives for their God, their country, their family, their friends, and even for those whom they do not know, we give our thanks.

In 2 Samuel 23 Davids last words were for the men that fought and men that he considered the real hero’s. Men like Eleazer, Adino, and Shammah, who stood and fought for God and country. David said “The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.” 2 Samuel 23:3

Many times the wars of today are not just, but that does not negate the honor of those who obey and give their lives in order for the people of this country to remain free. In times past we have treated them with dishonor, and I see a return of that in the way that our current government is beginning to treat them as well. While our government is limiting their freedoms and disrespecting them, it falls upon us as citizens of this country to step up and show them that irregardless of what the government that has placed them in danger, believes, we honor them and wish to show our respect in every way possible. So remember that these are our own and that we do honor them!

Branch is Tied into the Vine

 By Pastor Kerry Mauldin
Rain came hard this AM as we went to the villages!!
at Gorenkapalli in pouring rain we dedicate a church given by Abundant Life!!
Pastors were so thankful and blessed!!
We were there last Oct and gave for the church.  Johan and Rageny, pastors had just lost a baby girl in death and we prayed God would restore with a baby.
we named and dedicated Samuel who is now 3 months old!  Named him Samuel as a fulfillment of a promise from God and he is dedicated to serve the Lord!
The church has grown from 15 to 30 adults this year!!
At Thatikula Village–Toddy Tree Village–We dedicate a prayer shed where Satyam (truth), came to the Lord 8 years ago, but none of his family.  Last year, we shared with his family and when we set with them, the look on their faces was terrorizing to us—(get out of here and don’t bother us) but they listened and several accepted Christ.  Satyam and his brother poured anointing oil all around a shiva temple and the family vowed to build a house for the Living God.
We dedicate that church today.  It is right beside a river and about 30 were there as we prayed, celebrated, cut cake and shared Christ with several who had not accepted!
God has so poured out His blessing on this family.  Their Chili pepper shop is doing well and blessed in every way as they are the first in the village to step out for Christ!!!
Korlapahad (Branch Village)–We had a late lunch early supper and saw where church is needed.  No other church in whole village.  We walk to visit in hindu homes and at center of village we gave bracelets and some 200-300 people totally surrounded us and we began to share.  Eventually they quieted down and listened very well as we clearly shouted the message.  A loud unison of voices prayed the prayer of salvation and we spoke into many hearts that were unbelieving.
Jim got up and taught the 100 or so kids down front a song with motions and all enjoyed!!
Joshua is a magnet to not only all the teen boys, but multitude of teen girls who all wanted a picture with him…
In the dark some 50-60 gathered at the church place and we taught them and joined with them to build a church (given by Huntsville Evangel).
The day ended on a great high as it is so much joy to have so so many gathered to accept and then press press press in for prayer…
I know God heard the many cries that these people have as they call out to Him and we joined with them!!
The Branch is was getting tied into the Vine!!
With love, thanks and prayers,
Melody, Kerry, Jim and Joshua

Do the People Want a King?

When the United States of America was formed there were many forms of government that were considered. One of them was a monarchy but this was the very type of governance that they were fleeing. They established a republic in the hopes that this was what would be the best for all the people. Something that would give them all the chance of a future without being under the thumb of rulers that had only their own interests in mind most of the time. They did not want the people to wind up a nation of servants.

And yet here we are. Our leaders have brought us to the very place that we ran away from. The place that many of the founders laid down their lives and fortunes to give us something better. Not only did they sacrifice, but a selfish and self centered nation is in the process of erasing them from the very history that they sacrificed for. They are being repainted as selfish men who had no other desire than to profit for themselves, without any real regard to the true history that shows how much they actually lost in money and life.

The people of this country have given control to a few men and women who lie to them with glib tongues and illusions to make it appear as if they themselves are not responsible for anything and that it is always someone else fault. That if we don’t give them what they want we will be destroy. A constant fear being laid upon our souls as if they are the only thing that stands between us and eternal destruction. And if anyone thinks that I am referring to any particular party here, I am not. Neither of them know how to lead. None of them seem to even understand and care how the country was founded or the sacrifices that were made.

Instead the current generation is so far from the sacrifice as to simply be greedy hogs simply looking for the next way they can profit from our despair. They use fear as a tool and our money to line their own pockets. They lie as fast as they open their mouths and tell anyone and all whatever they think that will get them what they desire. They take no responsibility for their own actions, even when those actions cost the lives of so many good men and women.

The have abdicated their own power for profit, or grabbed power that they have no right to in order to subvert the Constitution and enslave the men and women that they took an oath to protect and defend. They give away our secrets to our enemies, turn their backs on our allies, and destroy our country in so many ways that it is impossible to keep up with. They are constantly imposing new regulations than cripple our economy or stifle business’.

With the stroke of a pen our President declares that abortion must be made available and therefore anyone who doesn’t wish to provide is in the wrong and must pay through the nose. If this were anyone else, forcing their ideas upon some other country, they would and have been declared dictators. And yet somehow because he was elected President those that approve of his actions, go right along, even though the previous President was maligned right and left for doing similar actions.

Since when does two wrongs make a right? Since when is it okay for someone to break the law simply because they are on the other side of the fence? Should we not hold our own leaders to a higher standard than we hold the rest of the world? Since when does it become alright for our guy but not for yours? Evil is evil no matter who commits it. Wrong is wrong no matter what letter comes after their name as in political party.

The people of this country voted for a President!! A man to lead them not a man that they were expected to serve. We voted for a continuation of our county. We were not asked to vote for a monarchy!!!! And yet it seems as if that is what our leaders feel is due them.

When the people of Israel decided that they wanted a King, God warned them of what to expect. It looks an awful lot like what we have right now. The difference is that we didn’t ask for it and it is being forced upon us.

1 Samuel 8

Good News Translation (GNT)

10 Samuel told the people who were asking him for a king everything that the Lord had said to him. 11 “This is how your king will treat you,” Samuel explained. “He will make soldiers of your sons; some of them will serve in his war chariots, others in his cavalry, and others will run before his chariots. 12 He will make some of them officers in charge of a thousand men, and others in charge of fifty men. Your sons will have to plow his fields, harvest his crops, and make his weapons and the equipment for his chariots. 13 Your daughters will have to make perfumes for him and work as his cooks and his bakers. 14 He will take your best fields, vineyards, and olive groves, and give them to his officials. 15 He will take a tenth of your grain and of your grapes for his court officers and other officials. 16 He will take your servants and your best cattle[a] and donkeys, and make them work for him. 17 He will take a tenth of your flocks. And you yourselves will become his slaves. 18 When that time comes, you will complain bitterly because of your king, whom you yourselves chose, but the Lordwill not listen to your complaints.”

Update from Pastor Kerry Mauldin

Sounds of a village

by Kerry Mauldin

Its early morning here in the village of Ishkababavgudem.  Roiosters are sounding the morning call and village is beginning to stir.  It is cool and had good night rest!!!!
Yesterday we had 5 villages, 5 Prayer sheds given for and 5 baptisms!!  A really enjoyable day!!
Early, we sat in village of Bottlapaleru and over 100 people sitting under big canopy of trees in front of us!  No church in this village, but beside us was a ruined heap of an old house that is given for a church.  Pastor is blind, but here 3 years and working hard and teaching!!  People’s hearts are open and all eagerly want a salvation bracelet and run to get other friends to come!!
We share and all listen and almost all sincerely pray the Salvation prayer!  All are in agreement to begin to give to God‘s house and this week all will begin work on the ruined heap–to build a Prayer Shed.  We gave to help!
As we are sharing, at the back of the large group, 2 houses down, 2 neighbors begin to shout and scream about their field.  Several people got involved as this man and next door neighbor woman fought…  Finally, we began to sing and clap and the shouts of praise drowned out the fight and people got focused on the Lord!  It was joy!!  5 people stepped up for baptism and the church has grown much here today!!  They took baptism in a concrete water trough that they could sit in and bend over forward for submersion…  PTL powerful witness to many!!
Went to Pallekedu to dedicate a small church by pastor Samuel.  When we arrived, the small church is built, but has a garden around it, cook fire in front and clothes on the line.  The pastorsfamily had moved in the church to live.  This hurt so much and is one of most disappointing encounters in many years!!  Pastor was not there and his wife was in confusion…
Next to the church was a mission field.  At least 20 families living in cardboard, plastic huts live for over a year.  We crutched over and sat in front of a smasll hut where Laxmi let me sit on her cot.  Children and chickens around, sun shining down, many people gatherted around this hut where Laxmi makes a living selling plastic containers–all in a mesh bag.
We share Christ and many people with joy and so in need of hope, respond!!
It was such a joy and relief to find something so good even in the disappointment …  I’m trying to imagine Samuels challenge.   Forced out of hindu rented house and moves into the church and now is not a church…what would I do?  Lord give wisdom!!
At Ellapuram Village, we go to dedicate a simple prayer shed that has turned out awesome.  The people are being taught and are giving.  All 30 members carried
blocks and built the church.  As we got there, they were plastering the outside and inside was done!!  ALL PAY TITHE AND GIVE!!  It was joy to give more for steps and paint.  Rare to give more after they are already in the church, but these are givers and suych a blessing to step up beside them!
As we are preparing for dedication, the drums and musical instruments begin to sound all in the village.  This is festival to Mysamma, “My Mother” goddess.  hindus all bring huge flowers and women all wearing best saree get in big circle and dance and sing love songs to “My Mother” goddess.  Men all stand back and watch…
As Melody and I start across village road, the dance is going on a hundred yards up the road.  Suddenly,sound of pounding hooves fill the air.  Some buffalo have broken loose near the dance, frightened by something–demon spirit…  They are pounding right toward us.  People lung toward us and Melody runs one way and I crutch the other and those wide eyed buffalo’s go tearing by!!!
To see so many villages and all the parades after dark as people walk by candle light–many many people–with huge mounds of flowers on the head….to throw in village water supply as a gift for fertility and blessing….
Today, many will be drunk as we go to the villages…God guide us!!
The sounds of a village…but the greatest is the praise that goes to the Living God as they know they have Eternal Life and have joy in the heart!!
Thanks so much for praying and the encouragement!  Sorry we have so limited reception and email is tough…

Rewarded for Righteousness

Blessed Are They Who Hunger And Thirst For Righteousness (Beatitudes #4) (Photo credit: loswl)

2 Samuel 22:21-28

“The LORD rewarded me according to

my righteousness;

According to the cleanness of my hands

He has recompensed me.

For I have kept the ways of the LORD,

And have not wickedly departed from

my God.

For all His judgments were before me;

And as for His statutes, I did not depart

from them.

I was also blameless before Him,

And I kept myself from iniquity.

Therefore the LORD has recompensed

me according to my righteousness,

According to my cleanness in His eyes.

“With the merciful You will show

Yourself merciful;

With a blameless man You will show

Yourself blameless;

With the pure You will show Yourself

And with the devious You will show

Yourself shrewd.

You will save the humble people;

But Your eyes are on the haughty, that

You may bring them down.

Why Call? (via ChristianBlessings)

Why Call? Moses and Aaron…and Samuel… they called upon the Lord, and He answered them. Psalms99:6(NKJV) “Thank you for holding, please stay on the line as your call is answered in ordered it was received.” We’ve all been there, haven’t we? Something happens that prompts us to call: the internet goes out, there’s a discrepancy with a medical bill. Something strange on our … Read More

Good Directions (via ChristianBlessings)

Good Directions 1St Samuel 16:1-5   What was Samuel’s problem? He was panic –stricken. He was just plain scared. Where were Samuel’s eyes? Well, they certainly weren’t on the Lord. They were riveted on Saul. From human viewpoint, of course, Samuel was right. King Saul was murderous. However, God was completely aware of the situation. After all, Saul was the one God was going t … Read More
