Attempting to obey God and follow Jesus Christ our Lord

Animal or Human

I was reading a news story this morning about a young man, 21, who got his girlfriend, 14, pregnant and when she refused to get an abortion, he smothered her with a pillow. Upon being arrested, he confessed his crime but asked if they thought he would get community service. Unless your heart is dead, stories like this should chill you to the very depths of your soul!
Our children are being raised to consider killing of others as routine, as if life has no value. It starts from the moment of conception with a lack of responsibility for the life in the womb, to seeing a dying person on the street. Our children are being taught not to take responsibility for their own actions but instead preaching and teaching revenge. They are saying, a life for a life and quoting the bible in justify this mindset. As if somehow this negates their responsibility. And yet this is a deliberate misinterpretation of the bible and neglects to take Jesus Christ message into account. In doing so they are rejecting Him, and whomever rejects the Son rejects the Father!
Many of these same people, leaders, Pastors, and average people alike, make no hesitation to encourage, and often demand the right to kill innocents in the womb. Their children grow up often knowing that their siblings were discarded as if they were just rubbish to be discarded as quickly as possible. How can children grow to value, much less hold sacred, any life! Many of them don’t even hold their own life sacred. After all, what meaning does it hold? They see no future, no value in existence, and no hope of ever knowing anything different.
And yet others who claim the mantle of Christianity, hide behind doors, shake their heads and the inhumanity and the loss caused by God not being in their hearts! Hypocrites!!!! Cowards!!! How are these individuals to hear God’s word if those who know it and are commanded to share neglect to do so! Excuse are easy to make, you don’t want to offend, they don’t want to listen, separation of church and state, respect of other religions! Who do you follow?
God is supposed to be first!!!! Before government, look to Daniel!!!! If you are afraid to offend man, know this, you are offending God!!! Is your faith so small you are worried about offending those who can only influence your life currently, or the One that holds your external future in His hands!!!!!!
Man is the only creature God gave the ability to make a choice! If man chooses wrong, he pays a price. That is the difference! We have a responsibility to make sure that others know this!!!!

Hope is What We Hold

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. – (Romans 15:4)

Knowing the word of God impacts our perspective on both today and the future. As we grow in understanding of who He is and what He has done in the past, the more confident we become in who God is for us both now and forevermore. Spending time studying His word increases our understanding, which in turn helps us gain a greater trust in Him. With trust, we are able to anticipate the future with hope (looking forward with confidence), for all that He has promised. May we study His word and allow every encouragement to take root in our hearts, so that hope is what we hold.

All that was written,The Bread of Life

the words of the past;

recorded to teach,

us lessons that last.

People who endured,

despite trying odds;

they put all their faith,

in Almighty God.

Through hardships and pain,

and journeys so long;

they trusted in Christ,

and He made them strong.

The very same God,

Who supplied the needs;

His Spirit with us,

while Christ intercedes.

Let hope now take hold,

and fill up our hearts;

His promises last,

as grace He imparts.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your word. Thank You that we have more access in this generation, than any generation before us. Thank You that Your word is full of examples of people who persevered in faith, endured trials, and ultimately overcame in Your strength. Thank You for the encouragement that You provide, and the promises that are packed throughout each passage. Thank You that You are faithful and unchanging. Forgive us for neglecting the easy access we have available to study Your word, and help us to have a passion to pursue knowing You and Your word more each day. Teach us to trust You more, so that we may listen to Your leading, and allow Your Spirit to instruct our hearts as we dig deeper in Your word. Help us to be transformed into Your likeness as we invest in our relationship with You. May we love others well, just as You so willingly and tenderly love each of us. Let those who are looking, be found in You. Be exalted O God, as we invest our hearts, minds, time and energy into knowing You more. Amen.
