Special Prayer Request for a Sister in Need

To all things give God the glory and He tells us to ask and it shall be given. Prayer is one of the most important things that we can ask for. And it is something that He requests we do for all those in need, but especially for our brothers and sisters. This is a prayer request from a wonderful sister who spends a lot of her time caring for other and hates to ask for herself. Please do add this to your prayers. We know that He is still on the throne and answers. And I have faith that this prayer will be answered as well! God bless you all, prayer warriors! Pray for her physical as well as mental welfare my friends. She is in an abusive situation as well!

“I need prayer.  My financial situation is unchanged, but I have to face my many physical challenges which have long gone untreated or diagnosed.  They have been growing worse but without money or insurance have been ignored.  I saw a doctor and my blood  pressure is off the charts and blood work is expected to reveal more.  PLEASE pray for me and especially for help with fear.  Thank you.”

Has Christ Given You His Saving Faith? You Can Be Certain…

Settled In Heaven Blog

SIH HALTAL ICONSimon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:  Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,  According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that [pertain] unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:   Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.  And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;  And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;  And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly…

One Day

One Day
There will come a day,

when we all shall hear,

each creature singing,

of the Lord, who’s near.

All those in heaven,

and all too, on earth;

sing of His praises,

and His matchless worth.

Seated on the throne,

God’s own holy Lamb;

all offered to Him,

glorious I Am.

All praise and honor,

power and glory;

may we forever,

speak of His story.

Imagine the day,

when we see His face;

joy unimagined,

held in His embrace.

Oh Lord, let our lives,

be sweet offering;

let our days be spent,

honoring You, King.

“Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing; ‘To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb, be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!” – (Revelation 5:13)

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that because You sent Your Son, the Lamb who was slain in our place, we have the opportunity to be in Your glorious presence forever. Forgive us for not always living with an eternal perspective – for what is on earth is merely temporary, yet that which is of You, is forever. Teach us to fix our eyes on You, so that we too, may gain Your perspective on people and the path we are called to take. Let us love others in the same light that You love us. May many be moved to embrace Your majesty as Savior and King. Amen.

Anne update: No new news is good news. Today I will go visit and spend time with this sweet sister and warrior for Christ. Please pray that God would use me as an encouragement and comfort to His dear daughter. Please pray also for His continued healing in her body, heart and mind. May the miraculous be her story that moves many unto Christ. Amen.

Abiding in “the Shadow of the Almighty”

Psalm 91

King James Version (KJV)

91 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

In the words of the Great HRC—

“what difference does it make” how these people were killed? So I now say to Sec. Kerry, they were killed and the world stood by and let it happen, whether it was from bullets, bombs or gas. And I’m sorry it happened but it’s not my business to do anything about it.

I’m not going to be a hypocrite. I know what will happen if we go in and support the “rebels.” They will come to power and we will have a repeat of Egypt: Thousands of Christians will be killed.

We “turned a blind eye” to the death of Christians in Egypt, the burning of churches. No one in this regime speaks out about that. Not one word has been said or one question has been asked of this regime about the Christian martyrs in Egypt and elsewhere in the ME.

But as soon as those UN inspectors are gone from Syria tomorrow, we will start bombing. Mark my words.  Obama will not get my support or that of many of my conservative friends on this move. I really don’t care if the Muslims want to kill each other. If there are so few moderate Muslims in the world with the courage to stand up and speak out, then why should I care?

Why should I be a hypocrite and act like I care? Sorry, I care about the dead Christians that no one is talking about.

Don’t Draw Back

Hebrews 10:26-39

King James Version (KJV)

26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

32 But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;

33 Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.

34 For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.

35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

Delight Me!

My husband and I were on our way down to the beach  in Crescent City. On a whim I asked, “Abba, would you delight me today?” It seemed like a very audacious request from the God who has given me so much already – but there it was.

I was not prepared for how He would answer my request.

We love this beach. It’s the best place ever for finding seashells…and not just clams or mussels. My favorites are the tiny little ones – only 1/4″ or so in length. I settled myself at the edge of the driftwood and began to collect them.

Soon a woman came along. I like to share my finds and show others where the best spots are, so I stood up and approached her. We soon began talking about what we do, and discovered that we were both authors. More conversation revealed that we were both followers of Jesus, which begged the question, “Where do you  fellowship?” When I mentioned my home church, she asked if I knew her brother – an elder there. Of course I did.

Putting two and two together, I discovered that I not only knew her brother, but that her sister had been the photographer at our wedding. Further, this woman and I had been in band together in high school back in the 70s.

We had a great time talking, and made plans to have dinner together that evening.

Wow! That was so cool, Lord, I thought to myself. I was certainly delighted with this chance meeting.

But there was more to come.

Sitting back on the beach, I talked with Jesus and thanked Him for the many songs He’d given me over the years. I decided to give Him a little concert – sing them back to Him while I continued to gather my little treasures. Soon the sound of music, backed by sea gulls and pounding waves, filled the air.

Two women sat off at a distance, also collecting shells. Bit by bit they moved closer – until they were almost on top of me. Having filled my little jar, I stood to locate my husband so I could join him. When I did, the younger of the two said, “I’m sorry if we’re invading your space. I heard Jesus in your songs, and wanted to hear them better.”

“Gee, thanks for the complement! No problem. I wasn’t leaving because of you. I’ve gathered all I want, and was going to go find my hubby,” I replied.

We began to talk, and soon discovered that we were from the same town, and also sisters in Christ. Twice in one day – that’s awesome!

Double delight, I thought with a smile.

As we were talking, I looked at the ground by my feet and spotted a most unusual barnacle. It looked like it had been formed around a golf ball – and then the ball extracted from the center of the cluster.

Share it with her, I heard in my head, so I reached out to show her my find.

I dropped it into her open palm. Her reaction was completely unexpected. She looked at it, then with her hand quaking, she moved it back to me – then toward herself – then back toward me again.

What on earth? I thought.

After a few minutes, she quietly said, “This means something.

“You see, earlier this year my brother was fishing with two friends over by the lighthouse. A sneaker wave swept all three of them off the rocks. It took them 45 minutes to recover my brother’s body because it was caught on the barnacles underwater. I think God is letting me know that he is okay – there with him. Thank you so much for this gift.”

Triple delight!

The request to be delighted by the Lord rarely goes unfulfilled. I never know what to expect. There are many more stories like this one to tell.

Try it sometime!!

“Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.”
