Attempting to obey God and follow Jesus Christ our Lord

The Desert Road

As I continue in my study of Acts, I so appreciate the sensitivity of Philip to the Lord’s leading. He was told to “Go south to the road – the desert road – that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” – (Acts 8:26) Despite Philip’s successful ministry in Samaria, he was quick to obey what was asked of him, without even asking why. He simply got up and went.

Philip’s obedience led to an extraordinary encounter with an Ethiopian eunuch. (an important official in charge of the queen of Ethiopia’s treasury) This man had traveled to Jerusalem to worship, yet had not yet heard the great news of Jesus. While Philip was walking on his way, he came upon the man as he was reading Isaiah, seated in his chariot, on the side of the road. Again, Philip followed the Father’s prompting, and went to the man, as he had been told, and ultimately explained how the passage the Ethiopian was reading was speaking of Jesus. Philip was able to tell him of all that Jesus had done, and all the good new that was available to him. The eunuch responded right away, and wanted to be baptized. Right after his baptism, the Spirit of the Lord took Philip away. The eunuch went on his way rejoicing, and was now equipped to share his experience with others.

In my own experience, I know this to be true. As a teacher, I thoroughly enjoyed teaching Social Studies, U.S. History, Art, and Language Arts. I had been stuck in a cycle of teach Mathematics for several years, and was burned out. Finally, I had returned to Language Arts and U.S. History, and was thrilled. At year’s end, my principal asked me if I would be willing to teach Reading Intervention the following year. My first question was, “How am I qualified to teach that?” His reply encouraged me to go ahead and wander into the desert, despite my inexperience with teaching struggling readers. (As did the still small voice in my spirit) One step of willing obedience, has led to a position that I would not trade for anything. I am now in my third year as the Reading Intervention teacher, and I LOVE teaching struggling readers. I get to see the “a-ha’s” and the successes, regularly. I get to know and love kids, that typically are difficult to know and love, in the tradition classroom setting.

Often, what we are called to do, does not make sense. Calls can seem to be a demotion of sorts, or a send-off into the desert. However, each time the call is answered and obeyed, the result is nothing short of remarkable. At times, it takes a great deal of walking before we seem to hear the next step, yet the obedient walking is somehow always a preparation for the next leg of the journey. May we be sensitive to His voice, and quick to make the choice to do as we are asked.

Ready to go,The Desert Road

leaving all behind;

willing to trust,

know we’re on His mind.

Steps to obey,

by faith we shall walk;

let momentum,

be our faith-filled talk.

See not the sand,

but trust in Him more;

He paves the path,

and leads us to shore.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You love us so much, that You call us to partner with You on this journey. Thank You that You use us and work in us and through us, when we are willing to answer Your call. Thank You that You are faithful, always. Forgive us for questioning Your call, or for fearing that we are not qualified. Thank You that none of us are ever qualified on our own, but rather You in us, is what qualifies us to be obedient and do as You ask. May we be tender to trust You more, and may many come to hear Your call, as we live and love as You call us to. May lives be changed and hearts be moved. All glory and honor to You, Lord. Amen.

For Mine Eyes Have Seen the Salvation

Luke 2:21-38
King James Version (KJV)
21 And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called Jesus, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

22 And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord;

23 (As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;)

24 And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.

25 And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.

26 And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

27 And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,

28 Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,

29 Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:

30 For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,

31 Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;

32 A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

33 And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.

34 And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;

35 (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

36 And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;

37 And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

38 And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

Anointing in the Holy Spirit

Luke 3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

Smith Wigglesworth said:

“The fire fell and burned in me till the Holy Spirit clearly revealed absolute purity before God. At this point she (the Sister who laid hands upon him) was called out of the room, and during her absence a marvellous revelation took place, my body became fill1 of light and Holy Presence, and in the revelation I saw an empty Cross and at the same time the Jesus I loved and adored crowned in the Glory in a Reigning Position. The glorious remembrance of these moments is beyond my expression to give-when I could not find words to express, then an irresistible Power filled me and moved my being till I found to my glorious astonishment I was speaking in other tongues clearly. After this a burning love for everybody filled my soul. I am overjoyed in giving my testimony, praying for those that fight this truth, but I am clearly given to understand that I must come out of every unbelieving element. I am already witness of signs following. Praise Him.” SMITH WIGGLESWORTH

D.L..Moody said:

“My heart was not in the work of begging,” he said. “I could not appeal. I was crying all the time that God would fill me with His Spirit. Well, one day, in the city of New York — oh, what a day! — I cannot describe it, I seldom refer to it; it is almost too sacred an experience to name. Paul had an experience of which he never spoke for fourteen years. I can only say that God revealed Himself to me, and I had such an experience of His love that I had to ask Him to stay His hand. I went to preaching again. The sermons were not different; I did not present any new truths, and yet hundreds were converted. I would not now be placed back where I was before that blessed experience if you should give me all the world — it would be as the small dust of the balance.”

Luke 4:1  And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,

Luke 4:16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

Jesus had the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and He said that if we ask it will be given: Luke 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Jesus said in Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Mark 16:

14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.

15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name they shall cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

If this is not happening in our churches should we ask the relevant question? Are they really believers? Or are they teaching something that they don’t truly believe or have never experienced? Because if you are filled with the Holy Spirit, it is not something that you will doubt. The power of the Holy Spirit affects people in different ways, some just cry because they can do nothing else, it is simply overpowering. Others speak in tongues and while many don’t believe and even go so far as to say that it damages Christians position in the world. I really wonder what is so great to have a powerful face in the world. Are we not instructed to be humble? It seems that the more prosperous that a church or church leader becomes, they start worrying in how the world perceives them.

R.A. Torrey said ” It has brought a joy into my soul that I never dreamed of before; a liberty in preaching that makes preaching an unspeakable delight where before it was a matter of dread;”

C. H. Spurgeon said “Let the preacher always confess before he preaches that he relies upon the Holy Spirit. Let him burn his manuscript and depend upon the Holy Spirit. If the Spirit does not come to help him, let him be still and let the people go home and pray that the Spirit will help him next Sunday.”

Were all these men of old mistaken? Is it not necessary to be filled with the Holy Spirit? If the Holy Spirit fills you with the ability to speak in tongues, is this something that is unacceptable today? Who decides that it is unacceptable? The one who hasn’t been filled or the one who has?

Jesus said “John 14:17-19 King James Version (KJV)

17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

There is only one caveat with this, it must be something that we ask for, something that we are willing to receive. How many who have not experienced it are not truly willing to receive it? How many are so afraid of losing control that they forget to truly know God, you have give yourself away. How can the Holy Spirit filled you with God’s grace if you are already full of yourself?  That is not to say that those who don’t speak in tongues have not been baptized in the Holy Spirit, it is just that they haven’t quite reached the point where they have given in and given God the opportunity to fill that space with something besides their own knowledge and beliefs. Something that truly transcends what we normally feel.

Take any vessel that you can think of, if you mix water into what ever is already in the vessel, what you have is no longer water, instead it is a diluted version of what was already there. And yet if you totally empty the vessel and fill it with pure water, then that is what you will have. So many times we are not allowing ourselves to be emptied to the fullest, we hold a portion back, for what ever reason, and therefore, we are not filled with what God wants to give us, but instead a weaker portion of what we already are.

We are told that we must put off the old before we can become the new, and yet we have this tendency to hold on to parts of the old. Whether it is from fear or change, or just because we are not quite ready, it is different with different people. Another way that we are told the same thing is the parable of the wineskins:

“And he spake also a parable unto them; No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old. And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish. But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved. No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.”—Luke 5:36-39, KJV

A.W. Tozer said:

But how can a Christian know the fullness of the Spirit unless he has known the experience of being filled?

It would, however, be useless to tell anyone how to be filled with the Spirit unless he first believes that he can be. No one can hope for something he is not convinced is the will of God for him and within the bounds of scriptual provision.
Before the question ‘How can I be filled?’ has any validity the seeker after God must be sure that the experience of being filled is actually possible. The man who is not sure can have no ground of expectation. Where there is no expectation there can be no faith, and where there is no faith the inquiry is meaningless.

The Doctrine of the Spirit as it relates to the believer has over the last half century [written in 1957] been shrouded in a mist such as lies upon a mountain in stormy weather. A world of confusion has surrounded this truth. The children of God have been taught contrary doctrines from the same texts, warned, threatened and intimidated until they instinctively recoil from every mention of the Bible teaching concerning the Holy Spirit.
This confusion has not come by accident. An enemy has done this. Satan knows that Spiritless evangelicalism is as deadly as Modernism or heresy, and he has done everything in his power to prevent us from enjoying our true Christian heritage.
A church without the Spirit is as helpless as Israel might have been in the wilderness if the fiery cloud had deserted them. The Holy Spirit is our cloud by day and our fire by night. Without him we only wander aimlessly about the desert.
That is what we today are surely doing. We have divided ourselves into little ragged groups, each one running after a will-o’-the-wisp or firefly in the mistaken notion that we are following the Shekinah. It is not only desirable thatr the cloudy pillar should begin to glow again. It is imperative.
The Church can have light only as it is full of the Spirit, and it can be full only as the members who compose it are filled individually. Furthermore, no one can be filled until he is convinced that being filled is a part of the total plan of God in redemption; that it is nothing added or extra, nothing strange or queer, but a proper and spiritual operation of God, based upon and growing out of the work of Christ in atonement.
The inquirer must be sure to the point of conviction. He must believe that the whole thing is normal and right. He must believe that it is God’s will that he be anointed with a horn of fresh oil beyond and in addition to all the ten thousand blessings he may already have received from the good hand of God.
Until he is so convinced I recommend that he take time out to fast and pray and meditate upon the Scriptures. Faith comes from the Word of God. Suggestion, exhortation or the psychological effect of the testimony of others who have been filled will not suffice.
Unles he is persuaded from the Scriptures he should not press the matter nor allow himself to fall victim to the emotional manipulators intent upon forcing the issue. God is wonderfully patient and understanding and will wait for the slow heart to catch up with the truth. In the meantime, the seeker should be calm and confident.”

There are those that claim that baptism in the Holy Spirit is an absolute essential to being a Christian, and others who say that it comes upon you when you accept Jesus as your Savior. Perhaps they are both right, perhaps, it is simply in varying degrees due to our own ability to accept it, and to what we can handle. I know that myself at times it is different in it’s appearance. Sometimes it is just an overwhelming sense of peace, a peace that I sometimes crave to experience everyday. Other times it is indescribable joy, and love that I long to have forever. I have witnessed the speaking of tongues, I have witnessed and been part of miracles.

The greatest experience that we can have on this earth is to be filled with the grace of God. That is something that I desire continually. I would never tell any person that being filled with the Holy Spirit is something that they have to experience but I would tell them that it is a wonderful experience. Neither would I tell them that being filled with the Holy Ghost and speaking in tongues does not look well in the eyes of the world. It is not the world that I strive to please and if He desires that I speak in tongues or that others do, it is Him that I listen to.

It is by His grace that I live, and it is by His grace and the Holy Spirit that I will continue to spread the word of the Living God. Jesus is my Savior and I have given my life to serving Him. To Him is the glory and I give thanks every day that He gave His life for me. God bless!

As America Has Done to Israel

As America Has Done to Israel

by JohnMcTernan

                                   Obadiah 1:15

For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done (to Israel), it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.

Commentary

PictureGaryIsraeli Ambassador Evrony (right) Receiving Copy of Book!

Last Summer, Dave Hauser, a very good friend of mine, invited me to dinner with Gary Krupp, President of Pave the Way Foundation. I met with Dave and Gary and had a wonderful time. Gary is a Jewish man with tremendous connections within the Jewish community both in America and Israel. He also has connections within the Vatican.

During the meeting, the topic of my book As America Has Done to Israel  came up, and I was able to give Gary a copy. I also shared some of the correlations recorded in the book of what happens to America when the president pressures Israel to divide the land and Jerusalem. He was extremely interested, and as it turned out, immediately began to read the book.

Gary called me and we discussed the correlations. He grasped that the God of Israel was directly warning America not to interfere with His covenant land of Israel.

The part of the book that really caught Gary’s attention and seemed to seal that God was directly dealing with America was the death of President Franklin Roosevelt.

On pages 91-94 in a section titled Roosevelt’s Fatal Mistake, I reported that the death of the president coincided with him stating publicly that he would never allow a Jewish state, in then, what was called Palestine. He made this proclamation to King Saud of Saudi Arabia in a letter dated April 5, 1945. Exactly one week later on April 12, 1945, President Roosevelt died and was replaced by Harry Truman. Truman was one of the greatest Zionists in the world and used his presidency to insure the birth of the modern state of Israel on May 14, 1948.

God removed the man, who was an impediment to His prophetic plan for Israel, and replaced him with a Zionist!

Gary wanted to share the book with friends, so I sent him copies. One person he shared the book with was Zion Evrony the Israeli Ambassador to the Vatican! On October 21 he gave the Ambassador a copy! The Ambassador was very interested in the book and said he would read it.

This is truly amazing that my book would reach the inner circles of the Israeli government along with the timing. The Ambassador has direct contact with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, so there is potential of the book reaching the Prime Minister and others in the Israeli government.

The timing of this event is astonishing as on October 1, 2013, Netanyahu made a powerful speech to the United Nations. In the speech he made reference to Iran and appearance that the United States and other countries are moving to appease Iran over its nuclear weapons program. He then made a bold statement that Israel’s existence was based on the Bible and quoted verses from the Bible! He was standing on the authority of the Bible!

Netanyahu: The Jews are Home – And We’re Not Leaving 10/03/13 This was one of the most exciting speeches that I ever read. Netanyahu even quoted Amos 9:14,15 as the reason Israel was a nation and that the Jews were not leaving the land.

Amos 9:14,15 And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God.

Because As America Has Done to Israel is now so close to getting into the hands of Netanyahu that it is possible God could use the book to help strengthen the Israeli government to resist Obama and the Quartet from creating a Palestinian state and dividing Jerusalem. The thought of the book being used by the Lord to help the Israelis stand on the authority of the Bible is such a blessing to me!

What is now needed is prayer that the book will be read and then passed on to Netanyahu who would read it and act on it.

I am asking everyone who prays for this ministry to pray that God would take the book to next step into the heart of the Israeli government, and they would read it!

God could then use this information to strengthen Netanyahu to stand on the word of God and resist Obama and Kerry as they attempt to divide the nation.

This is so exciting to think that we could be used in God’s end-time prophetic plan for Israel!

Joel 3:19 Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land. (20) But Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation.

2 Kings 19

King James Version (KJV)

19 And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of theLord.

2 And he sent Eliakim, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.

3 And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and blasphemy; for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.

4 It may be the Lord thy God will hear all the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the words which the Lord thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that are left.

5 So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.

6 And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say to your master, Thus saith theLord, Be not afraid of the words which thou hast heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

7 Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and shall return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.

8 So Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.

9 And when he heard say of Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, Behold, he is come out to fight against thee: he sent messengers again unto Hezekiah, saying,

10 Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God in whom thou trustest deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.

11 Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly: and shalt thou be delivered?

12 Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed; as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which were in Thelasar?

13 Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivah?

14 And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the Lord, and spread it before theLord.

15 And Hezekiah prayed before the Lord, and said, O Lord God of Israel, which dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth.

16 Lord, bow down thine ear, and hear: open, Lord, thine eyes, and see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent him to reproach the living God.

17 Of a truth, Lord, the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands,

18 And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.

19 Now therefore, O Lord our God, I beseech thee, save thou us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the LordGod, even thou only.

20 Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LordGod of Israel, That which thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard.

21 This is the word that the Lord hath spoken concerning him; The virgin the daughter of Zion hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.

22 Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.

23 By thy messengers thou hast reproached the Lord, and hast said, With the multitude of my chariots I am come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon, and will cut down the tall cedar trees thereof, and the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the lodgings of his borders, and into the forest of his Carmel.

24 I have digged and drunk strange waters, and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all the rivers of besieged places.

25 Hast thou not heard long ago how I have done it, and of ancient times that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste fenced cities into ruinous heaps.

26 Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded; they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the house tops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.

27 But I know thy abode, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.

28 Because thy rage against me and thy tumult is come up into mine ears, therefore I will put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.

29 And this shall be a sign unto thee, Ye shall eat this year such things as grow of themselves, and in the second year that which springeth of the same; and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruits thereof.

30 And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall yet again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.

31 For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the Lord of hosts shall do this.

32 Therefore thus saith the Lord concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against it.

33 By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the Lord.

34 For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.

35 And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the Lord went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.

36 So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.

37 And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Armenia. And Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.

King Hezekiah (Part 1)

2 Kings 18

Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

18 Now it came to pass in the third year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Hezekiah the son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign. 2 Twenty and five years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Abi, the daughter of Zachariah.3 And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that David his father did.

4 He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan. 5 He trusted in the Lord God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him. 6 For he clave to the Lord, and departed not from following him, but kept his commandments, which the Lord commanded Moses. 7 And the Lord was with him; and he prospered whithersoever he went forth: and he rebelled against the king of Assyria, and served him not. 8 He smote the Philistines, even unto Gaza, and the borders thereof, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.

9 And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Hezekiah, which was the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against Samaria, and besieged it. 10 And at the end of three years they took it: even in the sixth year of Hezekiah, that is the ninth year of Hoshea king of Israel, Samaria was taken. 11 And the king of Assyria did carry away Israel unto Assyria, and put them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes: 12 because they obeyed not the voice of the Lord their God, but transgressed his covenant, and all that Moses the servant of theLord commanded, and would not hear them, nor do them.

13 Now in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah did Sennacherib king of Assyria come up against all the fenced cities of Judah, and took them. 14 And Hezekiah king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria to Lachish, saying, I have offended; return from me: that which thou puttest on me will I bear. And the king of Assyria appointed unto Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold. 15 And Hezekiah gave him all the silver that was found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasures of the king’s house. 16 At that time did Hezekiah cut off the gold from the doors of the temple of the Lord, and from the pillars which Hezekiah king of Judah had overlaid, and gave it to the king of Assyria. 17 And the king of Assyria sent Tartan and Rabsaris and Rab-shakeh from Lachish to king Hezekiah with a great host against Jerusalem. And they went up and came to Jerusalem. And when they were come up, they came and stood by the conduit of the upper pool, which is in the highway of the fuller’s field. 18 And when they had called to the king, there came out to them Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder. 19 And Rab-shakeh said unto them, Speak ye now to Hezekiah, Thus saith the great king, the king of Assyria, What confidence is this wherein thou trustest? 20 Thou sayest, (but they are but vain words,) I havecounsel and strength for the war. Now on whom dost thou trust, that thou rebellest against me? 21 Now, behold, thou trustest upon the staff of this bruised reed, even upon Egypt, on which if a man lean, it will go into his hand, and pierce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt unto all that trust on him. 22 But if ye say unto me, We trust in the Lord our God: is not that he, whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah hath taken away, and hath said to Judah and Jerusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem?23 Now therefore, I pray thee, give pledges to my lord the king of Assyria, and I will deliver thee two thousand horses, if thou be able on thy part to set riders upon them. 24 How then wilt thou turn away the face of one captain of the least of my master’s servants, and put thy trust on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen? 25 Am I now come up without the Lord against this place to destroy it? The Lord said to me, Go up against this land, and destroy it. 26 Then said Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, and Shebna, and Joah, unto Rab-shakeh, Speak, I pray thee, to thy servants in the Syrian language; for we understand it:and talk not with us in the Jews’ language in the ears of the people that are on the wall. 27 But Rab-shakeh said unto them, Hath my master sent me to thy master, and to thee, to speak these words? hath he not sent me to the men which sit on the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you? 28 Then Rab-shakeh stood and cried with a loud voice in the Jews’ language, and spake, saying, Hear the word of the great king, the king of Assyria: 29 Thus saith the king, Let not Hezekiah deceive you: for he shall not be able to deliver you out of his hand: 30 neither let Hezekiah make you trust in the Lord, saying, The Lord will surely deliver us, and this city shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria. 31 Hearken not to Hezekiah: for thus saith the king of Assyria, Make an agreementwith me by a present, and come out to me, and then eat ye every man of his own vine, and every one of his fig tree, and drink ye every one the waters of his cistern: 32 until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of corn and wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of oil olive and of honey, that ye may live, and not die: and hearken not unto Hezekiah, when he persuadeth you, saying, The Lord will deliver us. 33 Hath any of the gods of the nations delivered at all his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria? 34 Where are the gods of Hamath, and of Arpad? where are the gods of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivah? have they delivered Samaria out of mine hand? 35 Who are they among all the gods of the countries, that have delivered their country out of mine hand, that the Lord should deliver Jerusalem out of mine hand? 36 But the people held their peace, and answered him not a word: for the king’s commandment was, saying, Answer him not. 37 Then came Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, whichwas over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder, to Hezekiah with their clothes rent, and told him the words of Rab-shakeh.

Barbarians are at the gates

by JohnMcTernan

                               Verse of the Day

Isaiah 19:4 And the Egyptians (Americans) will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts.

Commentary

Spiritual leader Muslim Brotherhood declaring to destroy Israel and take JerusalemSpiritual leader Muslim Brotherhood declaring to destroy Israel and take Jerusalem

I know that the context of the Isaiah 19:4 is literally Egypt, but it sure looks like God is turning America over to a fierce king or ruler called Obama and his followers of the Hard Left. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the Holy God of Israel has hand chosen this man for judgment on America. He is a perfect fit for a nation that has turned away from God and His word. I realize not every American has rejected God and is in total rebellion against God’s word, but corporately the nation has rejected God at every level.

Psalm 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

The Americans appear to be going out of their way to “spit in God’s face”. The military, with promoting homosexuality and starting to persecute believers, is the best example. The vast majority of the church remains powerless,  “dead in the water” and just allowed satan to take over the military. This is really shocking as God’s church is AWOL in the face of this spiritual warfare. It surrendered without a fight.

Satan is now training “his army” to use against the church who surrender to him!

When Jeremiah preached to Israel, he called for national repentance and turning back to the Lord. He did this until King Nebuchadnezzar with his Babylonian army were at the gates of Jerusalem. This is when Jeremiah said it was too late to turn to the Lord and told the Jews to surrender to the Babylonians. The Jews refused to obey Jeremiah, and ended up with the Babylonians destroying Jerusalem and killing vast numbers of the Jews. There comes a time with God, when it is too late to avert judgment.

Jeremiah 27:17 Hearken not unto them; serve the king of Babylon, and live: wherefore should this city be laid waste?

I believe a similar event is about to overtake America. It will be too late for the church to repent and cry out to the Lord for deliverance. America will be turned over to a “fierce king” for judgment. Obama looks like the man as he is heartless. His ruthless, hardened heart is easily proven by his promotion of killing babies in the womb. He even wants to kill the babies born alive from an abortion! He has the heart of an abortionist, which is without mercy and ruthless. I think that ruthless and wicked are the best words for this type of heart.

The Muslim Brotherhood bragged these were their agents under Obama. It was no secret. The Muslim Brotherhood bragged these were their agents under Obama. It was no secret.

No matter what he says about Israel, his actions show he wants this nation destroyed. The proof of this is his unwavering support for the Muslim Brotherhood. It is impossible to give such support to an anti-Israel, anti-Christian and anti-American terrorist group, unless he was part of it. He knows this terrorist group wants to destroy Israel and make Jerusalem the capital of an Islamic caliphate, yet he is unwavering in his support for it. It is frightening to think of Obama with unlimited power over Americans.

Obama: The Muslim Brotherhood President 10/10/13 Make sure you read this entire article.

“Obama’s unstinting and uncritical support for the Muslim Brotherhood is nothing new. The Obama administration’s support for the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt has for years been so glaringly obvious that in July 2012, when then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton visited Egypt and had a cordial meeting with now-ousted Muslim Brotherhood President Mohamed Morsi, foes of the Brotherhood regime pelted her motorcade with tomatoes and shoes for delivering that country up to the rule of the Brotherhood. Protestors held signs reading “Message to Hillary: Egypt will never be Pakistan”; “To Hillary: Hamas will never rule Egypt” and “If you like the Ikhwan [Brotherhood], take them with you!”

And last summer, when the Brotherhood regime was suddenly and unexpectedly toppled from power, numerous anti-Brotherhood protesters held signs accusing Obama of supporting terrorists. One foe of the Brotherhood made a music video including the lyrics: “Hey Obama, support the terrorism/Traitor like the Brotherhood members/Obama say it’s a coup/That’s not your business dirty man.

”Obama’s support for the Muslim Brotherhood goes back to the beginning of his presidency. Early in 2009, when the group was still outlawed in Egypt, he met with its leaders. He made sure to invite Brotherhood leaders to attend his notorious speech to the Islamic world in Cairo in June 4, 2009.”

His unwavering support for killing babies and the Muslim Brotherhood, which are slaughtering Christians in Egypt and Syria, is a sign of what this “fierce king” would do to Americans, if God give us over to him.

This is right before us, and just like there came a time, when the Jews could no longer repent but had to go under judgment, it now appears that the time is right before us, that a similar event is going to happen to America.

With Obama as president, the “barbarians are at the gates”!

The thought of 60 million legally aborted babies with their blood crying out for justice and judgment is frightening. Obama with his cruel Muslim Brotherhood mentality, might turn America into a blood bath. The combination of his abortion and Muslim Brotherhood mentality should drive every Christian to his knees and crying out to God for mercy. There is still a slight window for this, but it might be down to weeks to just a few months. Just like ancient Israel, the Babylonians now are almost at the “gates of America” and then it is too late. Can there be any greater “barbarians” than the Muslim Brotherhood?

Obama’s bullying Israel to divide the land and Jerusalem is a sure sign that God’s righteous judgment on America is VERY close. Where is God’s church?

For you that fear the Lord, continue to pray and intercede. Remember, when God judged Jerusalem with King Nebuchadnezzar, He spared those that cried and sighed over the abominations of the nation. They walked in the fear of the Lord and understood God’s holiness.

Ezekiel 9:4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. (5) And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:

We need to keep interceding before the Lord for all the American abominations and trust that He will spare us from the wrath to come.

Above all, no matter what happens to America, do not take your eyes off the coming of the Lord Jesus for His bride. Living with the Blessed Hope will keep you full of peace and joy no matter what chaos and judgment is around us. In reality, the Blessed Hope is the only thing that matters in this world. It is the only thing worth living for in a sin cursed dying world under the judgment of the Holy God of Israel.

May the Holy God of Israel bless and protect you in these coming months; may He place His seal of protection on your forehead, as you do not play religious games but cry out to the Lord.

Revelation 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

As Obama Has Done to Israel via John McTernan

As Obama Has Done to Israel

For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done (to Israel), it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.

“Obama pushing Israel to vacate Jordan Valley” 10/09/13 No wonder Washington is in chaos. Look what Obama and Kerry are trying to do to God’s covenant land, Israel! They are even trying to bring international forces on the covenant land. Events may get so out-of-hand in America, that God might bring international forces to America!

The Obama administration is pressing hard for Israel to give up the strategic Jordan Valley in a deal with the Palestinians, a senior Palestinian negotiator told WND.

The current round of U.S.-brokered talks is attempting to hash out the details of a plan for the valley.

Obama’s proposal calls for international forces to maintain security control along with unarmed Palestinian police forces, the PA negotiator said. Israel will retain security posts in some strategic areas of the Jordan Valley, according to the U.S. plan.

Obama even has plans to divide Jerusalem, while this might lead to God dividing America:

The negotiator, meanwhile, said Secretary of State John Kerry is urging an all-encompassing final status deal on the Jordan Valley, West Bank and sections of Jerusalem, including the Temple Mount.

Meanwhile, regarding the rest of Jerusalem, Kerry’s plan is to rehash what is known as the Clinton parameters. The formula, pushed by President Bill Clinton during the Camp David talks in 2000, called for Jewish areas of Jerusalem to remain Israeli while the Palestinians would get sovereignty over neighborhoods that are largely Arab. Most Arab sections are located in eastern Jerusalem.”

Remember, that the Temple Mount is ground zero of Bible prophecy. Obama, through Kerry, is literally playing with spiritual fire as he touches Jerusalem.

I think that, as he moves against Jerusalem, the Holy God of Israel is going to move directly against Obama, including removing him from office.

Zechariah 12:9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

This is Obama’s plans for the Jews living in the West Bank settlements:

When it comes to the West Bank, which borders Jerusalem and is within rocket range of Israel’s main population centers, Israel is expected to evacuate about 90 percent of its Jewish communities currently located in the territory, as outlined in Kerry’s plan.

Israel would retain strategic security posts along with the West Bank’s main blocs, Maale Adumin, Ariel and Gush Etzion. In return, Obama is calling for an exchange of territory with the Palestinians, with discussion being open for the Palestinians to possibly receive land in the Israeli Negev in the country’s south.

The book that explains what is happening in the Middle East

The book that proves the authority of the Bible as the word of God!

It is very possible that if Obama continues to pressure Israel to displace huge numbers of Jews off the covenant land, that huge numbers of Americans are going to be displaced.

This happened in 2005 with Hurricane Katrina, which I show in my book As America Has Done to Israel.

“AP Poll: Obama Approval Plummets to 37%” 10/09/13 Obama is paying a great price for attempting to divide Israel as his approval rating shows. Since he has no intention to leave Israel alone, there is no place for him to go but down and plunge in the polls.

“Most Americans disapprove of the way Obama is handling his job, the poll suggests, with 53 percent unhappy with his performance and 37 percent approving of it.

God may be moving now to break America in half as the country is deeply politically divided. Obama is now a lightning rod for anger against the federal government. He is also becoming a source of mocking, as so many see how weak and what an outright liar that he is. The world is even mocking him.

As Obama pushes to divide Israel, just look what is happening to America at the very same time!!! As Obama and Kerry ramp up the pressure against Israel, watch what happens to them and the integrity of America. The division of America may start politically and spread to every other area. I believe that the nation is very close to breaking up.

What a time this is to be able to stand for the truth of God’s word and be a witness for the Lord Jesus.

Please be a witness for the Lord Jesus as time is growing short. It is now or never.

Revelation 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Apostles Are Miraculously Freed From Prison

Acts 5:17-29

Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

17 Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation, 18 and laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison. 19 But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said,20 Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life. 21 And when they heardthat, they entered into the temple early in the morning, and taught.

But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought. 22 But when the officers came, and found them not in the prison, they returned, and told, 23 saying, The prison truly found we shut with all safety, and the keepers standing without before the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man within. 24 Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things, they doubted of them whereunto this would grow. 25 Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.26 Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.

27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,28 saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.

29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

Christ Teaches on Repentance

Luke 13:1-9

King James Version (KJV)

13 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.

2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?

3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.

7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?

8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:

9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
