Obama Has Authority To Launch ‘Preemptive’ Cyberattacks Eurasia Review

obamaObama Has Authority To Launch ‘Preemptive’ Cyberattacks Eurasia Review.

This story if true is disturbing on many levels. It says nothing of the executive branch requiring any approval from Congress, or even that Congress has approved anything.

Excerpt “The Obama administration is currently drawing up a set of rules about how the US military can defend against or conduct cyberattacks, the New York Times reports. The Obama administration is also allowing intelligence agencies to declare potential threats. But even if these threats are nothing more than a suspicion without evidence, the military now has the authority to attack foreign nations, regardless of whether or not the US is involved in a conflict with them.

This would not only spare the US from sending its own troops overseas, but it would also allow the administration to make decisions without the deliberation that usually occurs before sending Americans into a conflict zone. And if the administration conducts an attack based on false premises, it would be saved the embarrassment that occurred when President George W. Bush sent thousands of US troops into a war with Iraq that lasted nearly 9 years, based on the false premise that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction and was a security threat.”

It also says that the government has the ability to act domestically…

The administration’s new rules would also allow the military to operate domestically, the thought of which has always made many people uncomfortable.

Even more disturbing is that this administration considers their actions so far restrained according to the report, what if there was a administration that had no restraints?

A senior administration official told the Times that the US has so far kept its cyber capabilities restrained and that the new rules could allow the administration to exercise its full potential.

“The [National Security Administration’s] cyber security operations have been kept very, very secret, and because of that it has been impossible for the public to react to them,” said Electronic Privacy Information Center attorney Arnie Stepanovich in November. “[That makes it] very difficult, we believe, for Congress to legislate in this area.” Read the rest at

Cross raised on Marine base might come down (via Zionica)

cpcross

The Marine Corps said Monday it is reviewing whether to remove a cross placed on a Camp Pendleton hilltop earlier this month by Marines honoring four comrades killed in Iraq.

The review came after an atheist group argued that the cross on government land violates the separation of church and state.

Several Marines, as well as the widows and children of two of the fallen Marines, carried the 13-foot-tall cross up to the hilltop on Veterans Day. The did so on their own and without Corps permission.

The cross replaced one that had been there since 2003 until it was destroyed by a brushfire in 2007.

“Camp Pendleton legal authorities are researching and reviewing the issue in order to make a judicious decision,” the Marine Corps said in a statement reported by the Los Angeles Times Monday. Continue at Zionica http://zionica.com/2011/11/23/cross-raised-on-marine-base-might-come-down/

Sack Lunches

I put my carry-on in the luggage  compartment and sat down in my  assigned seat. It was going to be a long  flight. ‘I’m glad I have a  good book to read. Perhaps I will get a short
 nap,’ I  thought.
Just before take-off, a line of soldiers
came down the aisle and  filled all the vacant seats, totally surrounding
me. I decided to  start a  conversation.
‘Where are you headed?’ I asked the
soldier seated nearest to me. Petawawa. We’ll be there for two weeks for special training, and  then we’re being deployed to  Afghanistan
After flying for about an hour, an
announcement was made that sack  lunches were available for five dollars.
It would be several hours  before we reached the east, and I quickly
decided a lunch would  help pass the  time…
As I reached for my wallet, I overheard a  soldier ask his buddy if  he planned to buy lunch.  ‘No, that seems like a
lot of money  for just a sack lunch. Probably wouldn’t be worth five
bucks.   I’ll wait till we get to  base.’
   His friend  agreed.
I looked around at the other soldiers.
None were buying lunch. I  walked to the back of the plane and handed the
flight attendant a  fifty  dollar bill.  ‘Take a lunch to all thosesoldiers.’ She grabbed my arms and squeezed tightly. Her eyes wet with tears, she thanked me. ‘My son was a soldier in Iraq ; it’s almost  like
you are doing it for  him.’
Picking up ten sacks, she headed up the aisle to where the soldiers  were seated. She stopped at my seat and
asked, ‘Which do you like  best – beef or  chicken?’
‘Chicken,’ I replied, wondering why she asked. She turned and went  to the front of plane, returning a minute
later with a dinner plate  from first  class.
         ‘This is your  thanks..’
After we finished eating, I went again to the back of the plane,  heading for the rest  room. A man stopped me. ‘I saw what you did. I want to be part of it.  Here, take this.’ He handed me twenty-five dollars.
Soon after I returned to my seat, I saw the Flight Captain coming  down the aisle, looking at the aisle numbers as
he walked, I hoped  he was not looking for me, but noticed he was looking
at the  numbers only on my side of the plane. When he got to my row he
stopped, smiled, held out his hand and said, ‘I want to shake your hand.’
Quickly unfastening my seatbelt I stood and took the Captain’s  hand. With
a booming voice he said, ‘I was a soldier and I was a  military pilot.
Once, someone bought me a lunch. It was an act of  kindness I neverforgot.’ I was embarrassed when applause was heard  from all of the passengers.
Later I walked to the front of the plane so I could stretch my  legs. A man who was seated about six rows in front
of me reached  out his hand, wanting to shake mine. He left another twenty-five  dollars in my  palm. When we landed I gathered my belongings and started to deplane.  Waiting just inside the airplane door was a man  who stopped me, put  something in my shirt pocket, turned, and walked away without  saying a word. Another twenty-five  dollars!
Upon entering the terminal, I saw the
soldiers gathering for their  trip to the  base.  I walked over to them and handed them seventy-five dollars ‘It will  take you some time to reach the base.. It
will be about time for a  sandwich. God Bless  You.’
Ten young men left that flight feeling
the love and respect of  their fellow  travelers.
As I walked briskly to my car, I
whispered a prayer for their safe  return. These soldiers were giving their all for our country.. I  could only give them a couple of meals. It seemed so  little…
A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank  check made payable to ‘The United States of
America  ‘ for an  amount of ‘up to and including my  life.’
That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country  who no longer understand  it.’
May God give you the strength and courage to pass this along to  everyone on your email buddy  list….
I JUST  DID     Let us  pray..
Prayer chain for our Military… Don’t
break  it!
Please send this on after a short
prayer.. Prayer for our soldiers  Don’t break  it!
                                  Prayer:
‘Lord, hold our troops in your loving
hands. Protect them as they  protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts  they perform for us in our time of need.  Amen.’
Prayer Request: When you receive this, please stop for a moment and  say a prayer for our troops around the world.
There is nothing attached. Just send this to people in your address  book. Do not let it stop with you. Of all the gifts you could give  a Marine, Soldier, Sailor, Airman, & others deployed in harm’s  way, prayer is the very best  one.
GOD BLESS YOU FOR PASSING IT ON!

A Christian Soldier Speaks Out (via Lorinov’s Blog)

This is an email I received this morning that I wish to share with you as I think there is some truth behind it.  We truly are looking through a glass darkly and not seeing the bigger picture I suspect. ~~RL

Dear Rob Lorinov:

I listened to Alex Jones last night on his daily news program. He spent the first hour of his three hour show talking about how he gets it. He’s figured out now that everything we are seeing in our country and in the world today has something unseen behind it. He even went on to admit that “demons” are behind it all. Now you may think this is foolish superstition or something but I assure you it is not. This is a world of illusion. What is is usually not and what is not usually is. Appearances are often deceiving in this world and what we see happening in our nation and all around the world today is not what it appears to be on the surface. There are greater forces at play in all this. Forces that cannot be seen or easily identified. Ephesians 6:12 says,

“Our fight is not against people on earth but against the rulers and authorities and the powers of this world’s darkness, against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly world.”

The spiritual world does exist I assure you and when we are looking for truth of what we see happening in this world today we must not ignore that spirit world. There is an old Jewish saying that says this,

“Behold! Believe! For even now there are still angels in the heavens who carry savage weapons!”

Here is a video of Alex Jones and what he said on air last night:

Tolerance

Tolerance
I am truly perplexed that so many of my friends are against another mosque being built in Sydney

I think it should be the goal of every Australian to be tolerant.

Thus the Mosque should be allowed, in an effort to promote tolerance.

That is why I also propose that two nightclubs be opened next door to the mosque, thereby promoting tolerance from within the mosque. We could call one of the clubs, which would be gay, “The Turban Cowboy “, and the other a topless bar called “You Mecca Me Hot.”

Next door should be a butcher shop that specializes in pork, and adjacent to that an open-pit barbeque pork restaurant, called  ” Iraq o’ Ribs.”

Across the street there could be a lingerie store called ” Victoria Keeps Nothing Secret” with sexy mannequins in the window modeling the goods.

Next door to the lingerie shop there would be room for an adult sex toy shop, “Koranal Knowledge “, its name in flashing neon lights, and on the other side a liquor store called “Morehammered.”
All of this would encourage the Muslims to demonstrate the tolerance they demand of us, so the mosque problem would be solved.
